Warranty & Returns

 

1. Warranty Coverage

Tk’s Furniture provides the original purchaser with a 12 Month Standard Warranty covering all products and components against defects in materials and workmanship. Some products have additional manufacturer warranties.

2. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)

All goods supplied by Tk’s Furniture come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund in the event of a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonable foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 

3. Definitions

For the purposes of this warranty:

  • “ACL” means the Australian Consumer Law.
  • “As Is” refers to goods sold in the condition as displayed, including known and disclosed defects.
  • “Product” means any item purchased from Tk’s Furniture.
  • “Structure” means the internal framework of a furniture item.
  • “Warranty Period” means 12 months from the date of invoice.
  • “You” means the original purchaser of the goods.
  • “Tax Invoice” is the receipt of purchase provided at the time of sale.

4. Specific Warranty Terms

Tk’s Furniture warrants that all furniture, whether fully assembled or ready-to-assemble (RTA), is covered under a 12 Month Standard Warranty for defects in materials and workmanship, including:

  • Frame/Structure
  • Lounge suspension systems (support under foam)
  • Seat foam cushions
  • Leather and soft fabric upholstery

Note: Goods intended for household use only. Any use in commercial, rental, or non-domestic settings will void this warranty.

Defects must be reported within 7–10 days of being identified. Delays in reporting may result in further damage and may void the warranty claim.


5. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

  • Incorrect or self-assembly resulting in damage
  • Misuse, abuse, or neglect
  • Improper storage or care
  • Use of harsh or inappropriate cleaning products
  • Normal wear and tear (e.g., fabric pilling, foam softening)
  • Transportation costs to/from non-metro or remote areas
  • Transportation costs for goods picked up from any Tk's store or warehouse.
  • Any fault escalated from minor to major due to being unreported

6. Ready-to-Assemble (RTA) Items

Customers must inspect RTA goods upon delivery. Claims for damage or missing parts must be submitted within 2 days of delivery and prior to assembly.

Lounge legs are included within the product and can be attached by the customer.


7. Lounge Furniture Structural Warranty

Structural defects including internal timber frames are covered under the 12 Month Standard Warranty.

Not Covered under this Warranty:

  • Incorrect assembly or use
  • Storage damage
  • Use of unsuitable cleaning products
  • Metal mechanisms and electrical components
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Non-reported issues that escalate
  • Transportation costs, including pickups

8. Warranty Scope and Claims

This warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.

 

What Constitutes a Major Failure

A product is considered to have a major failure if:

  • You would not have purchased the item had you known about the issue;
  • The item is significantly different from its description, sample, or demonstration model;
  • The item is substantially unfit for its intended purpose and cannot be easily remedied within a reasonable time;
  • The item is unsafe.

If a major failure occurs, you may:

  • Return the item and request a refund;
  • Return the item and request a replacement; or
  • Retain the item and request compensation for the reduced value.

Minor Failure

A minor failure refers to any issue that does not meet the threshold of a major failure and can be resolved within a reasonable time.

In the case of a minor failure, Tk’s Furniture may choose to:

  • Repair the item at no cost to you; or
  • Provide a replacement
  • Provide a refund

Cosmetic issues such as scuffs, loose stitching, dust cover tears, or softening of cushions typically do not constitute Major Defects.


9. Products Sold “As Is”

Items sold "As Is" include limited warranty coverage of 12 months, unless otherwise specified in writing on your Tax Invoice. These items are sold with known faults and are not eligible for extended warranty coverage, or new claims on the existing faults.


10. Mattresses

Mattresses carry manufacturer-specific warranties as stated on their tags. Soiled or stained mattresses will not be accepted for return due to health and hygiene reasons. Regular turning, vacuuming, and use of a mattress protector is recommended. Transport fees may apply for returns after 12 months.


11. Proof of Purchase

Claims must be supported by valid proof of purchase, which includes:

  • Tax Invoice
  • Delivery Note (for online orders)
  • Finance documentation (if applicable)

Email confirmations alone are not sufficient.

If your receipt is lost, a matching bank/credit card statement may be accepted if the charge directly corresponds to the item’s value. For multiple item purchases, this may not suffice.


12. Refund Policy

Refunds must be authorised and are processed via the original payment method. The purchaser listed on the Tax Invoice is the only party eligible to receive the refund.

Refunds are not available for:

  • Gift card purchases
  • Change-of-mind returns

Where a refund is approved for a major defect after the warranty period, an appropriate fair-use deduction will be applied, along with any transport costs.


13. Returns Policy

Returns will only be accepted when the product:

  • Is not of acceptable quality
  • Does not match the description or sample
  • Is unfit for its intended purpose

No refunds are offered on free or bonus items.

Strictly No Change of Minds.


14. Reporting Defects or Damage

Defects must be reported to Tk’s Furniture within 7 days of discovery. Failure to report issues promptly may result in further damage and void your claim.

Tk’s Furniture reserves the sole right to determine whether goods are faulty or damaged.

If, following inspection, the product is deemed free of defects and in proper working order, Tk’s Furniture may seek reimbursement for any costs incurred during the assessment process.

Customers are expected to respond promptly to all warranty-related communications. Failure to respond within 5 business days from the date of communication will be taken as confirmation that the customer no longer wishes to proceed with the claim and accepts the goods in their current condition. In such cases, the claim will be considered withdrawn, and no further action will be taken.
